What is laser surgery?

Laser surgery is when an incision is made using a laser beam rather than a scalpel. A laser beam is a concentrated beam of light and it has the advantage that as well as cutting blood vessels and nerves it also seals them. The results of which are less post operative complications and more importantly less post operative discomfort.

Laser Surgery

We are proud to be the only first opinion practice in the North West to offer laser surgery. The carbon dioxide laser is pictured alongside.
Martin Gabbutt has been using this technique for over 2 years now after an initial training course  for which he had to travel to the  USA. The laser can be used in  any surgical  procedure. Martin finds it very useful in oral, ear and anal surgeries.
It is excellent in dog neutering and is definitely the method of choice for castration of the dog.
